The ultimate, best, simplest way to deal with bots.
ok i have seen soooooooooo many threads with nerfs to 55ers, asking questions upon leaving..... ect ect to stop bots. and the conclusion is always "this would tick off the player base more than the bots" which is true.....
i had never suggested this before because i thought someone had to have suggested this before. but i searched and looked in index and it is not there..... which surprises me cause this is the most effective and easiest solution.
the solution..... dont make signs targetable in towns. solved. all bots now use signs to get out the doors..... if they cant use the signs they can leave the town. now i still want signs names to pop up so you can see which exit is which just dont allow people to target them. the player base would not give 2 shits and a giggle about this.... cause nobody but bots targets signs.
now i know this would only be temporary cause bots will find a way around it.... but it would screw them for quite a while... and its a super simple thing to put in.
so whatcha' think

Seems easy enough, and it wouldn't stop me from being able to exit an area without being able to target a sign (ie it doesn't hinder our playing ability).

Was suggested countless times before. They would just use the merchants or other npcs for navigation. A waste of Anets time.

Yeh, it would work for Granite..
Most other places use Chinese Gold Farmers, which are real people, who dont use signs ...

yea spellsword like i said this would be a temp fix.... but it would hurt them for a while.... and npcs are really near the doors so it would be harder for them to do. also this is not a waste of anets time cause this take like 2 secs to do lol
edit:@ onerabbit..... well duh this is to stop bots not gold farmers lol. and this would also work for bergen hotsprings.

suggested before. it wont work.
Targetable signs are not the reason bots work.
The ";" auto-loot-pickup button is not the reason bots work.

Yeh but most people who complain about bots also mean the gold farmers, as there 2 hell of alot more of them.

It doesn't matter where they are. Bots only need two static pointers on the map. They run to pointer A, then from there to pointer B, after which they will always be facing a certain way. After that, they have no problem moving anywhere on the map, as the maker already knows where the bot is and what direction he is facing.
And a while = less than a week in this case. I would bet new bots would be made within a day from when the change was implemented. Again, it doesn't matter what they target, as long as they can target something.
Lastly, you said signs should not be targetable, but the text should still show. I am sure this would take more than two seconds to program. They would also have to change the signs in each map that they appear in and update the game. So yes, it would be a waste of their time.
